Injustice for Casey doesn’t bring justice for Caylee
So there is a lot of outrage right now that there was no justice for Caylee Anthony, but if you watched the trial or even halfway kept up with the news how could her mother be convicted? Two wrongs don’t make a right. We still don’t know how Caylee died, just that she’s dead. Maybe she drowned in the family pool, maybe she was sick, who knows, we may never know. The fact of the matter is you can’t convict someone of murder with no proof of murder. Casey Anthony should have been more forthcoming with the police, really it would be nice if she wasn’t a liar, but that is not the case. People do stupid things when they think they might get in trouble and in this case maybe it was a horrible accident that a young self centered stupid girl handled wrong. Our justice system is not set up to convict people of the worst crime we can imagine happen when we have no idea what really happened. Casey may have been a mediocre mom, but up until her death, there were no signs Caylee was abused or neglected in any way, so really no basis to jump to the conclusion her mother killed her. Accidents happen and usually people call the police and we mourn with them, but sometimes people get stupid and paranoid when accidents happen and this is not an excuse to over punish them.
Casey Anthony’s life is ruined, she won’t get her daughter back, she doesn’t ride off into the sunset to a perfect life. This isn’t a movie, she has to live with her daughters’ death, her conviction on several charges and the fact that most everyone in the entire country knows her face and hates her guts. Her life is not better because she wasn’t convicted of murder, if she writes a book and makes some money, so be it, I bet she’ll have a hard time getting a job anywhere. At the end of the day Caylee is still dead and even her mother rotting in jail will not bring her back, we could convict a hundred random people of her murder, but it won’t bring her back. Sometimes life is just unfair and sometimes accidents happen and it is unreasonable to demand justice if this in fact was an accident. If she drowned accidentally in the family pool who are you demanding justice from?
